Birthdays
Happy Birthday to John Stephens who will celebrate his special day on May 20th.
KASC – Food Donation Pick-up TOMORROW, Monday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m.
Harrogate volunteers will come through the community tomorrow beginning at 10:00 am to pick up any donations for the Kennett Area Community Service Food Pantry. Because it is also trash pick-up day, please put your donations on your front porch. Rising food prices put a burden not only on families in need but also on those who give so generously. Thank you for your generosity.

HNCA Board Meeting
The May HNCA Board meeting will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 24th in the Clubhouse. All are welcome to attend.
New Garden Township Zoning
Here is a link to the latest zoning proposal from New Garden Township New Garden Township. There will be discussion at the Board of Supervisors Meeting on Monday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m.
Chester Water Authority
Chester Water Authority is sponsoring Public Water Independence Day at the Octorara Reservoir to celebrate 5 years of fighting against the hostile takeover attempt by Aqua PA. Come out and show your support for CWA. See flyer in clubhouse for details or go to 5years | Save Chester Water Authority. CWA is still fighting the attempted takeover, and we continue to work hard with them. If Aqua succeeds our water rates will at least double.
Keep Water Affordable OPED
The Keep Water Affordable team recently published an OPED in the Delaware Valley Journal, OPINION: Municipal Sewer And Water Customers: Beware of Big Water! – DV Journal (delawarevalleyjournal.com) Our original OPED appeared in the March 29 issue of the Philadelphia Inquirer, followed by a letter to the editor in the May 4 edition of the Inquirer.

ACTIVITIES
LADIES’ NIGHT OUT/MEN’S NIGHT OUT – Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 5:30 p.m.
The Activities Committee has planned for a LADIES’ NIGHT OUT and a MEN’S NIGHT OUT at two local restaurants: one for the ladies of Harrogate and one for the gentlemen of Harrogate, to enjoy an evening with your neighbors over dinner.
LADIES’ NIGHT OUT: Place: The Naked Olive 759 W Cypress Street, Kennett Square, PA
Time: 5:30 p.m. BYOB
MEN’S NIGHT OUT: Place: Six Paupers Restaurant 7465 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE
Time: 5:30 p.m.
There are two signup sheets in the Clubhouse lobby (one for ladies; the other for gents). To provide the restaurant with a count for the evening, please sign up no later than Wednesday, May 11 if you plan to go.
The restaurants will provide individual checks; however, they have requested that, where possible, we make payment in cash. This helps them expedite the check out process. Please feel free to carpool!
Group Trivia Night
Friday, May 20, 2022 is Group Trivia Night at the Clubhouse. Ron Sullo will again be our guest host that evening. The questions will cover a wide variety of subjects and we will work in groups to come up with the answers. Ron does not charge for hosting his trivia events, but in appreciation for his time, he asks for donations that he gives to a charity of his choice. Any donation that you wish to make that evening would be greatly appreciated. Mark your calendar for 7:00 PM May 20th.
Food Trucks For a Cause
Harrogate Welcomes back Burgers by Wildwich and Sweet Josephine’s Dessert Truck on Friday, June 17, 2022 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Harrogate Clubhouse. All Harrogate residents, their family and friends are invited and encouraged to participate in this event. There is no pre-registration/signup required; just come to the Clubhouse, place, and pay for your order, (cash and credit cards accepted), and feel free to dine on the patio (weather permitting), in the Clubhouse or return to the comfort of your home to enjoy your dinner. Menus will be posted in the Clubhouse prior to the event. BYOB or bottled water/can-sodas will be available for purchase at the food trucks. Ten percent of the proceeds from this evening will benefit The Cardiac Center at the Nemours Children’s Hospital in Delaware.
